So far the trading predictability of 2014 has been just as anticipated. This past week the Dow Industrials Index lost 3.52%, for the month of January (so far) the Dow Industrials index has lost 4.21%. Remember that as an objective trader one does not really care if the markets go up or down. The key is to make money regardless of the direction of the action.

So, last week we put in another profitable week.

It is vitally important to pay close attention to the techncal anlaysis given in these updates. The pundits on television and in the media in general all are focused on the market's supposed reaction to a specific event(s). This is actually an irrational way to trade or invest. The key is to find the most objective and predictive way to trade. As many of you who have been with ShepWave over the past 10 1/2 years know, it is best to turn down the volume on the television when having CNBC on. It is only good to have the TV on for any news emergencies. Other than that, keep the volume on mute. This will aid in maintaining objectivity and not feeding into the continual emotional appeals being made on the television.

Only the Regular Scheduled Update for Monday has been published. This update contains the analysis for the major U.S. Equity indexes, crude oil, gold and the VIX, using the daily time frame. You will notice that many of the key technicals we have been watching have been hit. Whiile it is too early to make a blanket prediction it does need to be said that the indexes could lose 30+% before most US investors even knew what happened.

Saturday Evening, the Pre-Market Update for Monday has been Published

The predictabilty and profitabilty of the U.S. Equity indexes remains. Last week's large percentage move was very profitable for ShepWave subscribers and is probably only the beginning of such moves.
